I finally made it to year 2000.
I realize I still have a lot of diaries to go through so I am changing my sorting technique once again. Fortunately, I started to write my diaries in English in 1999 and I do not have to translate anymore, only transcribe. For now.
My usual approach of sorting and archiving my Journals follow these steps : number pages – take photo of each page – edit photos – file in drive – transcribe all in folder – translate all in separate folder- select extracts of both text and pictures. A 40 pages journal can take up to 5 days for me to complete.
Starting today, I am skipping steps and work on the extract directly in order to finish my fund raising e-book ” Glimpse of A Nomad’s Life ” : read and select extracts – transcribe directly selected extract in drive with photos of tickets. I can do a 40 pages journal in one day.
Et voila !
Today, I read my trip to Egypt ( 9 March – 30 April ) and lost track of reality for a couple of hours.
There is no other diary like this one. I think this is the only diary where the traveling experience gets my whole attention. Most of the other journals include intimate moments, evolution of my mental state, research on culture etc…. As if I had known then that I would forget the details of the beauty of Egypt and the eventful two months spent moving around the country.
I am so happy I wrote this journal this way.
It has been too many years since I was able to be the vagabond that I am. Too many years trapped in the darkness of my own mind, spiraling under the weight of a Life without Faith.
This diary is literally taking me on a trip.
Each word showing me a world I had forgotten, each page bringing a smile to my face and each day trip bringing Peace into my Heart.
This Diary makes me feel Home. My ever moving Home.
It is exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to take people with me, to give them a taste of adventure and inspire them to act on their own curiosity.
I am so ready to go back to Life.
I hope you will enjoy it too once I publish the full transcript.
